I moved to New York City in the Fall of 1975, and it felt like traveling the world every day. Like any good tourist, I explored the place on foot and by subway and took black and white 35 mm snapshots in the manner of the photographers Andre Kertesz, Henri Cartier Bresson and Robert Frank. Circumstances and exigencies gradually eroded the time needed to access these images and draw from them the thread of a theme lying dormant within the whole. Now, through the power of digital tools, the thread was picked up and followed, ending in a work still in progress but close to complete, βNew York, 1975-1979β
